Dedication Stephanie Sailor dedicates this entire run for US Congress to her Grammie C., the woman who: --is the mother of 11 children, 30+ grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. --raised her children singlehandedly, after she was widowed when her husband passed away (due to complications from his war injuries) in '69, leaving her with 11 kids, ages 1-21. --never went on welfare, despite encouragement from almost everyone around her. --received sparse payments from her husband's retirement plan -- the Social Security sham. (The system was so poorly designed, she was capped off in the "wife and 3 kids" category.) --was offered by an unmentionable agency that they would "buy her children from her." --sent 11 out of 11 children to private Catholic gradeschools. --eventually went to college in her later years, taking a women's studies class, only to discover that it was a "man-bashing clan of women" that she "couldn't relate to" and "hated everything about it." Grammie C. says, "Women's studies should be about the progress of women, not bringing down men. I've always felt strong." --continues to defy all prevailing health hype, as she subsides on a diet consisting primarily of candy, Hostess Ding-Dongs, and other trashy foods, while smoking 1 pack of cigarettes/day, drinking 2 pots of coffee/day, & consuming 1/2 can beer/day, -- and is still full of youth at the hearty age of 75. --is the strongest, most independent, and vibrant woman Stephanie knows. --back to top-- [People before politicians -- please give to charity] |
